Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha over the cloudburst near Amarnath shrine in central Kashmir on Wednesday. Manoj Sinha briefed the home minister on the current situation in the regions of the union territory that have been affected by cloudbursts.
After Manali in Himachal Pradesh and Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir, the Amarnath shrine cloudburst was the third to be reported on Wednesday. No loss of life or injury has been reported from central Kashmir as of now.
“I spoke to J&K LG Manoj Sinha regarding cloudburst near the holy cave of Baba Amarnath. National Disaster Response Force teams are being sent to the location for relief work and accurate assessment,” tweeted Amit Shah.The public in Gund and Kangan areas of the union territory have been requested by authorities to stay away from the river Sindh as there may be a sudden increase in flow of water due to the cloudburst.
